Room 60W is an original Chacoan room located in the central sector of Salmon Pueblo. It measures 6.5 x 2 m. Room 60W was subdivided creating two smaller rooms: 60A to the east and 60B to the west. Excavation proceeded with these two rooms but stopped before reaching the strata below the dividing wall. No strata or features were assigned to 60W. The Chacoan use of 60W is unclear. Tree ring dates suggest construction around 1090 and it is estimated that Room 60A was used into the late 1200s.
